This is on my mind ... optimism

I spotted this daisy by the driveway as I was in the garden today.

Optimism is on my mind today, the importance of optimism in my life, helping me to see the glass as half full rather than half empty.

By being optimistic - looking for the best outcomes and being hopeful - I'm more likely to see the best of things when they are in front of my nose - like this little daisy, a welcome and cheery flower to see on a January day - and its easier to appreciate all the good things that are in my life right now.

'This is on my mind' is a Friday thread started by Rhonda Jean at Down to Earth.

What's on your mind this Friday?

  1. Optimism is a fine thing. And there are so much that is good, I'm sure this little daisy is just the tip of the iceberg.

  3. What a lovely daisy to find! Thank you for sharing your picture and thoughts on optimism. I've noticed that if I'm optimistic I'm more likely to find joy in the things around me. :)

  4. Thanks Mrs J. Its true - when you focus positively and joyfully you do really see more to be joyful about.

  5. I saw a very clever poster a few days ago. It showed the typical picture of a glass half full. But the empty portion was marked with a sign that said 'air'. So the glass is actually always full.

I am determined to also be optimistic about life. I don't want to wait until things are lined up 'perfectly' to start enjoying it.

I love your picture of the daisy.

I'm with you for enjoying every moment (saves a long wait for everything to be perfect).

  9. I am always too darn optimistic and it drives my wife crazy...but I still think it is the ultimate attitude to have.:) What is on my mind today is how happy I am that the snow is starting to recede a bit due to a warm spell we are quite suddenly experiencing...it is going to be a beautiful day!
