In my minds eye I can see it in our new home, the arrangements changing with the seasons. It helps keep my vision of what I want - our new home - strong, in these times of putting up walls and ceilings (when a finished home seems far away).
One day, maybe in the not too distant future, our lovely home will be finished... and I'm glad that my simple vase helps me to hold onto that vision :-)

A very attractive arrangement and good photography. Having a 'vision' is very necessary - we all must have a 'vision' of the future to give purpose to our directions in life.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment John (I'm glad I snapped a picture of that arrangement last summer - a reminder of summer is always good).
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE your stone vase! Where did you get it, and is it meant to be used as a vase (or did you repurpose it)? I love stone--there's something so beautiful about it's earthiness. Your arrangement is also lovely. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Mrs J. - I'm glad you LOVE the vase (and the arrangement). I got the vase from a stallholder at a wonderful day out a few years ago at the Hampton Court Flower Show in London (a rare treat - with a good friend).
ReplyDeleteIt is made from a piece of stone, with a hole drilled in the middle, which is set on a deep saucer which has spikes set into it. This means its easy to position stems between the spikes.
I lost the details of the guy who made it - he had a whole range of them (all displayed with tall flowers) ... of course, mine was the nicest ;-)
That is really quite unique and the arrangement is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely arrangement and vase, very Zen!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post, Ferris in both photo and prose. Hold on to that dream. It will be a reality soon and all your blogging buddies will be cheering!
ReplyDeleteHi Becky - thanks for your visit and appreciation.
ReplyDeleteHi Bridget - very Zen - now that IS a compliment, thank you.
I do love that little vase and finding things in the garden to put in it .. in winter I have been known to add some small leaves off my red curly kale .. to give it a bit of extra colour.
Love the vase Ferris, and the vision too. At least you know what you are working towards, I hope it keeps you going through all the work, it will be so worthwhile in the end, when you get to arrange seasonal loveliness in a vase in your new home.
ReplyDeleteThe vase is beautiful Ferris and I'm sure it will have a especial place in the new house soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you Janet and Claud - I look forward to posting a picture of the vase in its new home in the perhaps near future X
